MLB Insider Reveals Why Yankees Won’t….
The New York Yankees are looking for some outfield depth at the trade deadline.
One name that has been thrown around is Andrew Benintendi of the Kansas City Royals.
The 28-year-old left fielder was acquired from the Boston Red Sox before last season and has been a godsend for Kansas City, which is why he is highly coveted right now. MLB
But other teams in the American League, and even in the National League who are going to play some games at Rogers Centre, might view his vaccination status as a red flag.
Heyman also noted that the Yankees entire roster as it stands now is fully vaccinated and they want to send their full team to Toronto, especially given that these two squads could potentially meet in the postseason.
So in that case, the Yankees are probably an unlikely destination for Benintendi.
But time will tell if other teams ultimately think they can find a fit for him and work around his vaccination status.

Jon Heyman tweeted that the Yankees are unlikely to do this because Benintendi is unvaccinated, and the Yanks have several games against the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre, where all players who play must be vaccinated by way of a mandate.

This could hurt Benintendi’s trade stock a little bit, especially with teams in the American League.
The Royals are already well out of postseason contention and could gain a huge haul if they do in fact trade Benintendi.
