The past few weeks have been quite the roller coaster for Lindsey Vonn. The 39-year-old was recently in Paris for the Olympic Games, taking in the event as a fan.
However, her return home hasn’t been an easy one as the skier is dealing with some tough news when it comes here dog.
Lindsey Vonn shares her physical condition after having to undergo multiple surgeries
Leo, her dog for the last 11 years, has lymphoma, and the news has been difficult for Vonn to process.
“It’s been a tough few weeks and I’ve been trying not to let my emotions show but I need to say it out loud to process it,” Vonn wrote on Instagram.
“Leo is my first dog, he’s been with me for the past 11 years and I can’t even begin to think about life without him.”
Despite the tough news, Vonn has made it clear she will do what she can to support Leo, writing: “BUT he’s a strong boy and we will do everything we can to beat this.
“Going to spend as much time with him as I can and support him in all of his treatments over the coming months.”
Vonn has navigated tough times
Unfortunately for Vonn, this isn’t the first time in recent years she has had to deal with tough news.
Back in 2022 she had to say goodbye to her dog Bear, and not long after her mom, Linda Krohn, passed away after a difficult battle with ALS.
“Trying to get back to normal…” Vonn wrote after posting several photos with her mom.
Part of her journey to get things back to normal included getting two new puppies, Leo and Lucy.
Now, her attention will be with Leo as she looks to help her furred friend deal with his illness.
