Novak Djokovic managed to break the dominance of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, becoming one of the greatest athletes ever. The Serbian phenomenon broke several records from his eternal rivals, as well as having a positive balance in the head-to-head with both.
The former world number 1 experienced a rather turbulent 2022, having paid a very high price for his choice not to get vaccinated against the Coronavirus. Nole was expelled from Australia at the beginning of the year and suffered serious damage to his image as a result of that absurd soap opera.
His triumph at Wimbledon allowed him to revive a season that risked taking on the contours of failure. The 35-year-old from Belgrade has thus hoisted himself at 21 Slam, shortening the gap that separates him from Rafa Nadal in the all-time ranking.
After a few relatively quiet months, the ‘Djoker’ schedule is once again uncertain. Goran Ivanisevic’s protege is waiting to know if he will be able to fly to New York, where the US Open will kick off on August 29th.
