After fans of the Boston Celtics used Ayesha Curry as a punch line throughout the 2022 NBA Finals, she’s turning lemons into lemonade for a very good cause.
It all started with a Boston-area bar that placed a sign reading “Ayesha Curry can’t cook” outside of their door during the Finals. From there, Celtics fans began selling and wearing shirts with the impromptu slogan as the series continued.
After Steph Curry responded to the criticism of his wife by wearing an “Ayesha Curry CAN cook” T-shirt during a press conference — and by helping the Warriors beat the Celtics to take home the Larry O’Brien trophy — Ayesha is now turning the positive twist on Boston’s joke into a means for fighting childhood hunger.
Ayesha’s brand Sweet July is now selling “Ayesha Curry CAN Cook” T-shirts, with all proceeds benefiting the non-profit No Kid Hungry.
The Sweet July fundraiser for No Kid Hungry has been so successful, in fact, that Ayesha’s brand recently updated its post to thank supporters for the overwhelming support.
Steph stated during the Finals that he enjoyed the barbs traded with Boston, and Ayesha has now turned that competitive spirit into something good.
